The Headquarter News Informer Provided by the International Association for Radio, Telecommunications and Electromagnetics We are also pleased to report that SAMEER in Chennai, India has been registered as an iNARTE Authorized Test Center. iNARTE had a very successful ESD Examination in Beijing, China, administered by our local partner, Beijing HJH Science & Technology Co. Ltd., where all of the candidates achieved a passing grade. We are now preparing for EMC Certification examinations in both Beijing and Nanjing in a few months. Similarly the EMC examinations held at York EMC Services, Ltd. in the UK resulted in a 100% success for the candidates. The next scheduled EMC Certification training and iNARTE examinations at York will be in May 2008. We opened the doors for business at our New Bern offices on January 3rd. It had been our assumption that taking the Holiday period to move would minimize the disruption to our members. How wrong we were! It seems that, when the members find themselves relaxing at home after the Holiday feast, their first thoughts are to go to the iNARTE web site and renew their Certification and buy books or merchandise. So a backlog awaited us, just when we needed to get unpacked. It was a hectic time, but by the end of January we were back on track. Our infrastructure had been rebuilt and we look forward to delivering a prompt and reliable and improved service to all members and candidates. Our last days in Massachusetts were made memorable by some heavy snow storms, one right on moving day. Yet another good reason to move south, we thought. But then, here we were in the Eastern Carolinas in January with snow falling, (just a little), and the New Bern town center fountain looking like an ice sculpture. There are some things you just cannot get away from in January. At the end of January, our long time Board member, Dave Case, NCE, NCT, stepped down from active Board duties. His decision resulted from a significant increase in his responsibilities at Cisco Systems Corporation, where he is the Corporate Compliance Regulatory Technical Leader. All of us at iNARTE wish to thank Dave for his years of dedicated service to our association and we wish him great success in his new role at Cisco. This means that at our next BoD meeting in May we will be electing a new liaison representative to the IEEE EMC Society Representative Advisory Committee (RAC). He will be a great loss to our community, and will be remembered with great affection by so many of us whose lives he influenced, both personally and professionally. He was a lifelong member of the IEEE and Winner of the Stoddardt Award from the EMC Society. International Focus In addition to the partnerships we had established in 2007, we have great interest in our ESD Certification programs being promoted and administered in both Malaysia and India. It will not be long before we have Agreements in place in both of these new iNARTE territories.
