The group put together a set of 10 policies and procedures that apply to all real estate management at Philips, relating to portfolio planning, funding approval, real estate and project management, facility management, and FM vendor management. BASF – Global Industrial Site Selection Thomas Glatte, Corporate Real Estate Management for BASF, gave a presentation on global industrial site selection at BASF, which began with an overview of the world’s leading chemical company, and its orientation toward sustainable development. The Verbund concept is central to BASF. “There’s not a real, one-to-one English translation of the term,” he allowed. “The term ‘integrated’ gets close, but not quite.” Verbund networks involve production plants, energy and waste flows, and logistics and infrastructure. Coinciding with the strong growth trend is a workplace transformation for its 91 U.S. locations launched by E&Y Americas Director of Real Estate Services Trex Morris, MCR, and implemented by a team of 11 total corporate real estate (CRE) executives including Wright.
