The Leader - September/October 2008 - (Page 107) c oNNec t WIth c or eNet Gl oB a l by demieta keener Improving the member experience chapters Get NeW WeB techNoloGY CoreNet Global is constantly looking for opportunities to improve its member experience, and the Chapter experience within the organization is arguably one of the most significant to members. So, it follows that each Chapter website, the main source for information about local events, news, and services, be fortified with technology that will help Chapter leaders in this endeavor. In June, the CoreNet Global Chapters and Communities team rolled out a new chapter web feature. New Chapter Microsites from Higher Logic will add immediate impact to the way Chapters manage websites. A dynamic web tool, Microsites will enable each chapter to manage its own web presence while maintaining a cohesive look with CoreNet Global. Created to streamline the look and feel of chapter websites, Microsites delivers on the professionalism and flexibility needed for chapters to autonomously manage their sites while keeping the integrity of the brand in place. We are excited to roll out new service enhancements which add value to our chapters. CoreNet Global is dedicated to helping chapters run with more efficiency – contributing to the overall local membership experience. Thanks to the Michigan Chapter leaders, who courageously agreed to be the first ‘chapter up to bat!’ Steve Opper and team, Paula Arwady and Debby Homic-Hoge, quickly recognized an innovative web enhancement opportunity and jumped on the chance to be the first pioneering chapter to have its website migrated onto the Microsites platform. It was a very painstaking process to migrate the Michigan Chapter website, but the care taken with Michigan will allow for careful evaluation and smoother migrations for the remaining chapters. The initial website of the Microsites Rollout project was ready for preview this summer. The Benelux Chapter is next on the list, and the migration should be completed by the Berlin Summit. Micrositesbound chapter websites include those for the following chapters and communities: Canada, Southern California, Workplace Community, Southwest, Atlanta, Carolinas, and Houston! If you have not yet received any communication about the new Microsites Chapter Web Enhancement product and you would like more information, contact Demieta Keener at 404.589.3214 or dkeener@corenetglobal.org. Attention chapters not on the list: There is still time to be included in the migration process! If the migration is completed by Dec. 31, 2008, there is absolutely no cost to the chapter. After January 1, there will be a fee for the migration. CoreNet Global is positioning itself as a global brand and industry leader synonymous with innovation, unique offerings, empowerment and stability. The organization is proud to provide chapters the products needed to run an effective chapter as well as provide services local members deem important. Chief Learning Officer Brenda Wisniewski’s team is completely reworking the Chapter Learning Program. That announcement will be coming very soon. Also on the horizon is the Chapter Services Agreement. Originally conceived by CoreNet Global members and the Member and Chapter Services (MCS) Committee and approved by the CoreNet Global Board of Directors, this resource will clearly outline responsibilities of CoreNet Global to the local Chapters and Communities and vice versa. Alignment with members’ needs is a main priority for CoreNet Global, and the organization is legally required to have a consolidated approach with protocols and processes for Chapters, as they are a legal component of CoreNet Global. Constant Contact, an email marketing and online survey product, will soon be available as well. The product will help chapters build better relationships with their members. This online tool will complement and enhance chapters’ total suite of membership offerings. 2 0 0 8 th e l e aDe r 107 septemBer / octoBer
