The big winner at auto supplier CooperStandard Automotive’s charity golf outing last month was S.A.Y. Detroit, a nonprofit organization that helps homeless people in Detroit. The event pumped $100,000 into the charity’s effort to raise $1 million for a medical clinic for children of the city’s homeless. Cooper-Standard Executive Chairman Jim McElya, left, celebrates the donation with columnist and author Mitch Albom, who founded S.A.Y. (Super All Year) Detroit in 2006 when the Super Bowl was played in Detroit. ■ Dressed to kill Fashion and cars are a good fit, in that accessorizing is important to both. Toyota and Essence magazine launched their Iflookscouldkill.com campaign at a party in New York. The event featured a fashion show of the Ghita clothing line by Alexis Phifer, above at right with “If Looks Could Kill” stars Scott Williams and Femi Emiola. The event presented screenings of the interactive “If Looks Could Kill” online series, featuring special agent heroine Bianca and her No. 1 gadget, the 2009 Toyota Camry V-6 XLE. The launch party also included a performance by Grammynominated recording artist Keyshia Cole, left.
