Executives of the Web site, EveryCarListed.com, say they plan to make money by charging sellers for premium listings. The site, launched last month, has more than 1.6 million car and truck listings and attracts 12,000 unique visitors a day, says CEO Darrell Campbell. Many listings by franchised dealerships have upgrades, including videos and photos. New customer source Larry Pryg, national advertising and marketing manager for the GM Certified used-vehicle brand, said EveryCarListed is easy for consumers to use. GM Certified’s 60,000 vehicle listings on the site, along with the inventories of other automakers and dealers, should create a new source of potential customers, Pryg said. “If you want to shop for something, you want all the choices,” Pryg told Automotive News. “We’ll get opportunities for conquest as well if there are other manufacturers on the site.” Users of the site can search for vehicles by ZIP code, make, model, age, price, mileage and fuel economy. Although the site was created with franchised dealers in mind, Campbell says EveryCarListed accepts listings from private sellers and individual dealers as well as from General Motors, Ford Motor Co. and Chrysler LLC. Free basic listings include sellers’ contact information and as many as four pictures of a vehicle. Paid “gold” listings include as many as 32 photos and a video walkaround of the car or truck. The site charges $600 to $2,600 a month for gold listings, depending on the size of the seller’s market, Campbell says. To continue to get inventory listings from automakers, EveryCarListed pledges to keep its basic listings free and not to run advertising that pits one car company against another. The site does not link to other automotive Web sites that offer content not provided by automakers. “We’re more concerned about presenting dealers’ vehicles in a positive light,” Campbell says.
