Dassault Systemes, of Suresnes, France, supplies software and services. Its brands include Delmia, Catia, Enovia and Simulia. FEDERAL-MOGUL CORP. — Jeff Kaminski, 46, to senior vice president and CFO. He succeeds Michael Lynch, who retired. Kaminski had been senior vice president of global purchasing. He continues as a corporate officer and member of the Federal-Mogul strategy board. Markus Wermers, 43, to senior vice president of global purchasing. He had been vice president of sales and marketing for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He also becomes a corporate officer and a Harrison Frieling Coherix, of Ann Arbor, Mich., is a privately held supplier of opticalbased measurement and inspection products for the automotive and semiconductor industries. DASSAULT SYSTEMES SA — Peter Schmitt, 41, to vice president of automotive sales for Dassault Systemes Americas Corp. in suburban Detroit. He had been vice president of member of the strategy board. Steven Gaut, 47, to vice president of corporate communications and government relations. He had been director of communications and marketing services for Europe, the Middle East and Africa and the global powertrain division at Delphi Corp. He also becomes a corporate officer and member of the strategy board. David Pouliot, 45, to director of investor relations. He had been director of corporate development and strategic planning. Federal-Mogul, of suburban Detroit, supplies pistons, rings and liners, valvetrain products, systems protection, bearings, lighting and seals. In December, the company emerged from Chapter 11 reorganization. WE KNOW THE AUTO INDUSTRY INSIDE AND OUT BorgWarner adds turbo capacity DETROIT — BorgWarner Inc. is building plants in Mexico and Thailand and expanding plants in Hungary and Poland over the next few years to increase turbocharger capacity by more than 3 million units. The turbochargers will be built for diesel and gasoline engines. The company is spending $125 million with the expectation that the demand for turbochargers in North America, Europe and Asia will increase by 40 percent to 27 million units over the next five years. BorgWarner, of suburban Detroit, makes engine air management systems, transmission assemblies and components for the automotive industry. Kia supplier builds Ga. plant LaGRANGE, Ga. — Sewon America Inc., a unit of the South Korea-based Sewon Group, broke ground here this month on a plant that will make components for Kia Motors America. The plant, which is expected to provide 700 jobs, will produce stamped chassis and body components and decorative trim pieces for Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia in West Point, Ga. The contract with the automaker requires a $170 million investment over three years. Sewon expects production at the 420,000-squarefoot plant to begin in the fall of 2009. GKN Driveline to grow in China BEIJING — GKN Driveline plans to open a production plant during the first half of 2009 in the central China city of Wuhan in Hubei province. The 474,000-square-foot plant will supply driveshafts for Dongfeng Motor Co. and its joint venture programs with Honda and Citroen. The plant will have an annual production capacity of more than 1 million driveshafts. GKN Driveline, of Worcestershire, England, makes sideshafts, propshafts and other driveline components for the automotive industry.
