CLEARING THE AIR FOR MICHIGAN The Dr. Ron Davis Smoke-free Air Law , M.D. Ron Davis008 1956-2 As the former director of Henry Ford’s Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, medical director for the State of Michigan Department of Community Health, and president of the American Medical Association, Dr. Ron Davis dedicated his life to improving the health of others. After years of work toward passing anti-smoking legislation in Michigan, May 1, 2010, will mark the beginning of the Dr. Ron Davis Smoke-free Air Law – an act named in his honor to prohibit smoking in most public places. Among the vast accomplishments Dr. Davis achieved in his lifetime, the new law will stand as a testament to the difference one passionate individual can make in improving a community’s health. This is an honor for which his family, and Michigan as a whole, can be proud. http://www.henryfordhealth.org/
