REAL ESTATE DEALS M Tide’s in for swimsuit makers ainstream Swimsuits Inc., the manufacturer of four different lines of bathing suits, including one that promises to make the lucky wearer look a lot slimmer, dove into a new lease for 10,100 square feet at 1441 Broadway. The asking rent for the space was $45 a square foot. The maker of the Miracle Suit, which promises women they’ll look 10 pounds lighter in 10 seconds, will move into the building by the end of the year. Mainstream is riding a wave of swimwear makers that have moved into 1441 Broadway, according to the company’s broker, Richard Selig of Coldwell Banker Commercial Alliance. “They like being in the same building as the competition,” Mr. Selig said. “It is easier for the buyers.” The building is owned by L.H. Good times for consignment shop It’s the seventh time around for burgeoning consignment retailer Second Time Around. The Boston-based company recently signed on for Manhattan outpost number seven. The latest is a 2,000-square-foot location at 238 W. 72nd St. The asking rent was $110 a square foot. The deal is for more than 10 years, according to real estate sources. “They’ve had a real nice success in New York,” said Scott Galin, the Handler Real Estate Organization broker who, along with colleague Darrell Handler,represented Second Time Around. He noted that the retailer, which entered the Big Apple five years ago, has added four locations in the past two years alone. By the end of this year, the chain expects to ink leases for two more places in the city, according to Mr. Galin. Among them is apparel shop Nos Boutique. It will soon combine its men’s and women’s locations into a storefront at 81 Front St., on the corner of Washington Street,that is larger than the two current shops combined.The retailer recently signed a 10-year lease for 3,200 square feet. The asking rent was $45 a square foot. “That corner is really people’s entrance to the neighborhood,” said Caroline Pardo, who represented landlord Two Trees Management Co. in-house. Nos’ 1,000-square-foot store at 117 Front St. will become a Pinkberry frozen yogurt shop.
