Opening its doors to over 25,000 attendees and 760 exhibitors, Cosmoprof North America took Vegas by storm once again at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. From the seminars to the parties to the not-tomissed North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA), the energy was at an all-time high from July 30 to August 2. Festivities kicked off Saturday night during a special Professional Beauty Association-sponsored VIP reception where the industry’s elite rubbed elbows and shared laughs over cocktails and appetizers. The party continued as guests filed into the ballroom for the City of Hope Gala, where Joico’s senior vice president and general manager Sara Jones was honored with the Spirit of Life Award for her tremendous philanthropic work and contributions to the hospital. Sunday evening also included a bevy of unforgettable moments as 3,000 attendees (plus 35,000 online viewers) looked on as career milestones unfolded before their very eyes during the NAHAs. NAHA’s top honor, Hairstylist of the Year, went to Eli Mancha of Bang Salon in Chicago. Other achievements included a Lifetime Achievement honor awarded to Michael O’Rourke and an induction into the Hall of Leaders for Stan Klet Sr. Log on to BeautyLaunchpad.com for a full list of winners along with their stunning portfolios. Mark your calendars! Cosmoprof North America 2012 will take place in Las Vegas July 21-24, 2012. Check out probeauty.org/beautyweek for details. —Jillian Gordon
