Good things come in well-designed packages
Sexy Hair proved when it announced the winner of its international Caring Is Sexy: Design Contest. Colorado Springs native Cherie Porter clinched the competition with her edgy zipper design, which will appear on limited edition cans of Sexy Hair hairspray. Five percent of sales of the special edition hairspray will benefit Look Good…Feel Better (LGFB), an organization that helps cancer patients. “It was wonderful to see artists put forth their best design in support of such a great cause,” said Karl Heinz Pitsch, president and CEO of Sexy Hair. “We especially loved the idea of the zipper. It unveils the new can and the next phase of our continued support for Look Good…Feel Better.”
Cherie Porter’s winning hairspray can design was inspired by a shirt her mother wears to a breast cancer awareness walk every year.
Models display their new hairstyles at the Aloxxi Team Training event.
Aloxxi made history this summer with its first-ever International Team Training event, held in Los Angeles and hosting attendees from as far as Europe, Asia and South America. Participants learned about Aloxxi products, technique and more through seminar-style training sessions. “This training allowed us to get a feel for Aloxxi on an international scale in advance of our launch this fall,” explained Nichole Tonning-Smith, director of training for Aloxxi. “The enthusiasm was infectious and gave us so much insight as to the powerhouse Aloxxi stands to be globally.” Aloxxi’s new artistic advisor, Teri Dougherty, also made an appearance at the International Team Training. Dougherty demonstrated her Stella Forte technique for the participants, who also got the chance to showcase their haircutting, styling and coloring talents over the course of the event.
