“If you want something bad enough, it’s up to you to go and get it” is an adage that hairstylist Sean James lives by. When James, a celebrity stylist for Phyto/Opus Beauty, heard that the play 8 was coming to Los Angeles for a one-night-only run, he was proactive. “I didn’t sit there hoping for someone to ask me to work on it,” James recalls. “I sought out the producers, showed them what I can do and was then given the opportunity.” The play, written by Dustin Lance Black (who also penned Milk) and directed by Rob Reiner, is based on a real-life court case chronicling the historic legal challenge to California’s Proposition 8, the ban against gay marriage. He got a real kick out of that!” Other stars’ style secrets? “I used Phyto’s volumizing spray to give Jane’s [Lynch] hair more lift,” James relates. “And for Jamie
