Site users can create different LookBooks within their profiles to save photos for later reference. Stylists can use Bloom.com as their online portfolio, linking to it from other social media like Facebook and Twitter or mentioning it while the client is in the chair. And stylists can gain extra exposure as Featured Professionals on Bloom’s homepage, through popularity or with a paid premium membership. Bloom.com users can also tag pictures with specific products used to achieve the look. “Women want to see the end result,” explains Mahloch. “You can show me a picture of a tube of mascara, but that’s not going to make me want to buy it.” For example, a stylist could ask to take a picture at the end of the appointment, save it to a client-specific LookBook and tag the products used. This provides a record of the client’s visits, as well as an opportunity to sell product.
