CRM - April 2008 - (Page 36) THE 2008 SERVICE stars AWARDS Searching the Universe COVEO SOLUTIONS KNOWS WHERE TO FIND WHAT YOU’RE LOOKING FOR rising s SIMONEAU Coveo can search for tough-to-find content. SNAPSHOT COVEO SOLUTIONS • Laurent Simoneau, President, Chief Executive Officer • S P U N O F F : in 2004, from Copernic Technologies • HEADQUARTERS: Palo Alto, Calif., and Quebec City, Quebec ince being spun off from Copernic Technologies in 2004, Coveo Solutions has built a solid roster of clients for its enterprise search products, including Frito-Lay, Procter & Gamble, NASA, and Verizon. In addition to providing powerful search capabilities that can handle large volumes of documents including audio and video, the vendor’s noted for its downloadable, easy-to-use interface and rapid setup time. The company has been cited on numerous lists as a “trend-setter” (KMWorld) and a “company that matters” (EContent), and is now one of CRM magazine’s Rising Stars. As more and more small and midsize businesses begin to recognize the importance of enterprise search to keep track of their important documents, Coveo offers innovations to efficiently sort through large volumes of documents. Coveo secured $6 million in venture capital funding in late 2006 from a group led by Quebec-based firms Solidarity Fund QFL and Propulsion Ventures and was granted a patent for its audio-video search feature, positioning it well for the growth of the enterprise search market. Krista Collins, an analyst for IDC Canada who included Coveo in a 2007 report, “10 Canadian Software Companies to Watch,” points to the company’s swift growth and versatile products as its strongest points. Coveo has introduced appliances for its enterprise search products that can search for tough-to-find content, such as words embedded within documents and material within audio and video files—in fact, it was the first audio-video search application for Microsoft SharePoint. Beyond being thorough, Coveo’s products can be set up quickly and don’t require extensive user training, Collins says. “What’s needed is an efficient and secure search that is user-friendly, integrated with existing applications, and easy to deploy,” Collins adds. “Coveo Enterprise Search 5 helps public- and private-sector organizations quickly locate information, allowing for customized service, employee efficiency, and legislative compliance.” Who says good help is hard to find? —Ryan Davis 36 CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT | APRIL 2008 www.destinationCRM.com http://www.destinationCRM.com
