CRM- September 2008 - (Page 34) THE 2008 market LEADERS By the editors of CRM magazine CRM has never been a niche market. The 10 categories here cover a vast territory— software and services, sales and marketing, information and analytics— and represent the culmination of months of research and dozens of analyst interviews. It’s been a year of consolidation and expansion—including in our awards themselves, which include two new categories—and while some of the winners, leaders, and Ones to Watch that appear in the following pages may come as a surprise, what’s not surprising is the industry’s ongoing excellence. CATEGORIES AND CRITERIA: CRM magazine’s seventh annual Market Leader awards rate the top five companies in 10 categories, using a proprietary selection formula. (The overall award rating is based on a composite score of CRM revenues; year-over-year revenue growth; and analyst ratings for customer satisfaction, depth of functionality, and company direction; unlike software companies, the consultancies are rated according to customer satisfaction, services offered, and ability to execute.) We present those companies alphabetically in the chart on the opposite page, with the name of the category winner in boldface and its results highlighted in a colored bar. On the pages that follow, in each category, we also cite one company worth watching for its potential to appear on that sector’s leaderboard next year. 34 CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT | SEPTEMBER 2008 www.destinationCRM.com http://www.destinationCRM.com
