PROGRAM
Understanding Autism in the Theme Park
Industry
Diagnoses of autism have increased in the past decade. One in
110 children was diagnosed with autism 10 years ago. Today, the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that one
in 68 children in the United States is on the autism spectrum.
Learn more about the autism spectrum, the importance of
training your staff to assist guests with autism, and how to make
simple changes at your resort or attraction to make it a more
welcoming and enjoyable experience for guests from the autism
community. You will walk away with a better understanding
of how to assist families and make physical modifications and
accommodations to create a more inclusive experience for your
guests.
SPEAKER: Mike Pastor, Head of Retail Operations,
LEGOLAND California Resort

Raising the Bar: Mixing Adult Beverages
in a Kids' World
Many attractions are designed specifically for children, but we
know parents must be able to enjoy themselves as well. One way
to make mom and dad happy is to include alcoholic beverages
on your list of options. It's not a decision to be taken lightly,
and there are many factors to carefully consider, including legal
requirements and whether it's right for your guests. In the end,
though, adding an adult beverage program to your venue's
offerings may expand the appeal of your attraction, increase the
length of stay, and grow your bottom line. Discover the 10 steps
you will need to implement to create and manage a successful
adult beverage program at your attraction. Learn the ins and
outs of licensing, staff training, purchasing, pricing, execution,
policies, and marketing, all backed up with hard facts and
case studies from successful programs at family entertainment
centers (FECs), zoos, water parks, and theme parks.
