The firearms industry has seen unprecedented
growth over the past two years. These new
customers are younger, more diverse and
have a different expectation of the retailers
they shop at. Join two of the nations top
independent firearms retailers in the country
as they discuss the strategies they employ to
attract, engage and retain the next generation
of customers, while still meeting the needs of
the existing customer base.
Bring your compliance questions and
concerns to this open mic panel discussion
hosted by the NSSF and their FFL Compliance
Consultants. Wally Nelson and Harry
McCabe were both Deputy Assistant
Directors of the ATF before they retired
and have decades of experience with the
compliance portion of the ATF. Both are
strong supporters of the 2nd Amendment
and the shooting sports industry and have
intimate working knowledge of the ATF
and can provide guidance on staying in
compliance and in business.

Nfa compliance
Wally Nelson
One of the largest areas of growth in
our industry has been the selling of NFA
products. You may be considering getting
into this market. While a lucrative market,
the National Firearms Act is a completely
separate law from the Gun Control Act and
you must comply with both when you sell NFA
firearms. Wally Nelson, former ATF Deputy
Assistant Director, will cover in detail the
rules that govern the selling of NFA products,
mistakes that commonly occur and how to
correct them, and best compliance practices
when it comes to selling these products.
