It’s a great time for childless singles who have had enough of their friends’ children, says Suzy. It’s known as an adult paradise. There are ghost tours and scary hay rides to add some excitement, but one of the nicest things to do is to take the beautiful drive from I-70 West, north on the Central City Parkway to the Peak to Peak Scenic Byway, through Nederland and heading north to Estes Park. The day after Thanksgiving, November 23 at 5:30pm at dusk, magic begins. The nighttime lighted parade begins with bands playing favorite Christmas songs marching down the street with white Christmas lights reflecting in their polished instruments. The wonder of Christmas comes alive in the annual Come Catch the Glow Parade. A full day of activity in downtown Estes Park precedes the parade. This is a special event great for single parents bringing their kids and friends. Holiday music is broadcast throughout town, helping set the mood. Pony rides and hay rides, giant animal-costumed characters, Christmas Carolers and a visit with Santa Claus will delight children young and old.
