Nested near the end of restaurant row on South Pearl Street, the Black Pearl is a New American bistro that boasts not only a great menu, but also offers patrons one of the best spots to dine alfresco in Denver. Relaxed and unassuming, the Black Pearl is a multi-level restaurant designed in all dark woods and outfitted with colossal windows and an expansive patio. The space is both cozy and inviting, and features one of Denver’s only outdoor community tables that’s even cleverly outfitted with its own gas fire-pit centerpiece. Adding more than just ambiance to this ten-top table, the fire-pit is a great way to stay warm during the cooler fall nights, start up a conversation with fellow diners, and of course, help stoke the romance of any date night dinner. But, don’t let the relaxed atmosphere and kick-back patio vibe throw you off; the menu at the Black Pearl is anything but laid back. According to Black Pearl’s manager, Steve Whited, “we’ve cheese. Still, the most unique and arguably the best plate on the menu is their Lobster BLT sandwich. Picture this: 1 ½ pounds of lobster, thick slices of apple smoked bacon and heirloom tomatoes sandwiched between two thick, butter laden slices of toasted sourdough bread, it’s nothing short of heart-stopping culinary bliss (and we mean that literally). A concoction of Pearl pomegranate vodka, lemonade and blackberry Izzi, which together create a cocktail that is as refreshing as it is potent. And for all those with dessert on the mind, make sure to try an order of the Milk and Cookies Medley, a sort of high-octane take on cookies and milk. Think Godiva Liqueur infused milk served over warm chocolate chip cookies. The perfect dessert to wrap up what is arguably the best outdoor dining experience Denver has to offer.
