This work was also supported by an ASH Scholar Award in 2008. During that time, she became keenly interested in better understanding the development and specification of HSCs to inform studies aimed at directing the fate of PSCs. She undertook the major task of expression profiling HSCs as they emerge throughout murine ontogeny to identify novel molecular regulators of HSCs specification. Dr. McKinney-Freeman established her own laboratory in the Department of Hematology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in 2010. Her laboratory seeks to identify novel regulators of HSCs and HSCs specification and apply this knowledge to directing the fate of PSCs toward the hematopoietic lineage. Dr. McKinney-Freeman hopes to improve the lives of patients suffering from hematologic diseases by contributing to the effort to develop patient-specific, cell-based therapies to expand access to HSCs transplantation and reduce the need for allogeneic transplants. http://www.amctheatres.com/movie-theatres/amc-fork-screen-buckhead http://www.amctheatres.com/movie-theatres/amc-fork-screen-buckhead http://www.starprovisions.com/bacchanalia.php http://www.starprovisions.com/bacchanalia.php http://www.hematology.org/jobcenter http://www.hematology.org/jobcenter
