ASH Tools and Resources for Clinicians
T
here are many challenges
facing hematology practices
today. ASH understands that
it is difficult to stay current on the
changes occurring in the tumultuous
health-care environment - health reform, reimbursement changes, new
policies, and new requirements for
practices. On a daily basis, the Society strives to help practitioners
by continuously strategizing ways
to protect and improve reimbursement, to provide tools to improve
quality of care for patients, and to
improve resources for hematology practices. This article highlights
some of the tools and resources currently available for clinicians.
ASH Practice Partnership
ASH recently launched an exciting new group - the ASH Practice
Partnership or APP - to help increase
the voice of practicing hematologists
and elevate practice-related issues
within the Society. The ideal candidate for the APP is an ASH member
who is interested in hematology care
issues, improving quality of care,
engaging in new health-care delivery systems, and practice management issues. APP members receive

a variety of benefits, some of which
include helping to shape ASH's
policies and programs, networking
opportunities, early access to ASH
products such as pocket guides, and
discounts for ASH programs.
Help ASH ensure every state in
the United States is represented in
the APP. If you are interested in joining this group or know of a colleague
that may be interested, submit a
nomination form at www.hematology.
