The resulting product appears to be exceptional, appealing and a test of golf.” Mike Nuzzo “It was a very attractive utilization of the natural topography. It looks like the golf course was laid down with minimal disturbance to the perimeter. The sharp contrast between turf and native is pretty and works on this site. With easily found mis-hit golf balls, it looks like a lot of fun to play, with well-done greens complexes.” The inside story Ernie Els has had his difficulties beating Tiger Woods on the course in recent years, but his signature design for Dubai Sports City has preceded the much-ballyhooed Tiger Woods Dubai project by a significant margin. The Els Club has already been a hit with its developers as the key amenity to a massive sports complex that includes a golf academy, a 25,000-seat cricket stadium, a 60,000seat multipurpose stadium, 10,000-seat indoor arena, tennis academy and health club. The first release of the 950 planned home sites sold out within a week, and the remainder of the homes in 2009 have a waiting list. Plans call for the course to be semi-private, with the 250 memberships going for $35,000 for individuals and $85,000 for corporate memberships.
