Golf Inc - March/April 2009 - (Page 23) International golf panel in spotlight at Golf Inc. conference Gary Player, other global golf executives to take part in special session By Keith Carter A special International Symposium co-sponsored by the World Golf Foundation will highlight the Spring Golf Inc. Conference at World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Fla., March 30-April 1. International golf experts including Hall of Fame member and global golf ambassador Gary Player, Steve Mona of the World Golf Foundation, Joe Louis Barrow of The First Tee, U. Balasubramaniam of Dubai Sports City and Jeremy Slessor of European Golf Design will outline the current state of the global golf industry. T h e s y mp o s iu m w i l l b e h e l d on Wednesday afternoon as the final session of the three-day Golf Inc. Conference. It will begin at 1 p.m. on Wednesday with a special invitation-only luncheon. Other Golf Inc. Conference attendees may join the symposium audience beginning at 1:30 p.m. Issues to be discussed include perspectives on worldwide golf development from Player, Balasubramaniam and Slessor, announcements on the international expansion of The First Tee’s player and personal development program from Barrow and an update on plans for the campaign to include golf as an Olympic sport in 2016.
