The most common improvement was purchase of new turf equipment Officer Al Kinkle. “The only thing I can say is what is happening today with the housing industry is affecting everyone for sure. How much of an impact it will have on us, we haven’t felt that yet.” The club, however, is taking no chances. Product-service vendors: • 34.9 percent said they will increase prices slightly in the next 12 months. 43.4 percent said they will remain the same and 15.7 percent will increase significantly. • 53.0 percent said the value of their business had increased since 2006. 38.6 percent said it had remained the same. Management company executives: • 47.4 percent said they expected to increase greens fees slightly at their properties in the next 12 months. 50.0 percent said they would remain the same. • 37.8 percent said they would spend between $50,000 and $100,000 in capital improvements at their courses during the coming year. 35.1 percent said they would spend more than $100,000. The most often mentioned expenditure was buying new turf equipment (73.3 percent). • 45.9 percent said less than 10 percent of their tee times are booked online. Only 13.5 percent said more than 25 percent of tee times are booked via the web.
