Its global reach has been expanded with a deal that gave Dubai-based Leisurecorp a stake in the company. In August, Garmany finalized a new agreement with the top development company in Abu Dhabi. As nce taking over as ClubCorp’s CEO following its acquisition by KSL Capital Partners in December 2006, Affeldt has acted to trim corporate overhead by approximately 20 percent while simultaneously increasing membership fees an estimated 4.5 percent in 2007 over 2006. The company actually sold more memberships in 2007 than the previous year despite a slowing economy and has continued to expand its portfolio. Si te shutting down his PGA Tour season for knee surgery after a dramatic U.S. Open win in June, Woods still is the most high-profile athlete in the world. His first course design, Al Ruwaya at Tiger Woods Dubai, is scheduled to open in 2009, and work is under way on his first U.S. course, The Cliffs at High Carolina. He is expected to expand his Tiger Woods brand to other real estate developments across the globe. Despi Steve Lesnik, Chairman; Steve Skinner, CEO, KemperSports 2007 Rank: (Lesnik) 7 Thi Steve Skinner (left) and Steve Lesnik s unusual dual designation results from KemperSports co-founder Lesnik’s decision in March to turn the company’s reins over to long-time executive Steve Skinner. Lesnik remains as chairman of the board, and continues to work with Skinner, his son Josh Lesnik, the company’s president, and other KemperSports projects and departments. It’s been a smooth transition, as the company has not missed a beat on Skinner’s watch. Its portfolio of managed courses has just hit the 100 mark, making KemperSports the fourth largest manager in the industry. The past year has marked some other milestones. KemperSports-managed properties at Chambers Bay Golf Club in Washington and Harding Park Golf Club in San Francisco were named future U.S. Open and President’s Cup sites, respectively. The fourth course at Bandon Dunes, Old McDonald, is under construction. And the company has expanded further outside the U.S. with property management deals in Nicaragua and a n venture with Bandon Dunes owner Mike Keiser new a Inverness in Nova Scotia. The KemperSports at p portfolio got a major expansion in March when L LinksCorp owner and CEO Ben Blake turned his company’s 14 properties over to KemperSports to manage and market and joined his former employer KemperSports as a senior vice president. 5 24 Golf Inc.
