National Jurist - January 2009 - (Page 14) NEWS Lawyerly Love For anyone studying to be a lawyer, it can be a long and arduous process. Now imagine if someone could make that process just the least bit more relaxing? Texas-based Lawyerly Love, which began last May, specializes in creating supportive handmade care packages and gift boxes specifically for new and aspiring lawyers. According to Emma Means, co-director of marketing, the company was founded because the creator and owner, a lawyer, was searching for gifts for friends who were in law school. Some were graduating or getting ready to take the bar exam, and she couldn’t find any appropriate gifts to express her support. So she found herself putting together care packages. One day a light went off and the owner realized that other people might be going through the same frustration that she did in trying to find a supportive gift for friends or loved ones getting through law school or the bar exam. That is how Lawyerly Love was born. It’s a company created by a lawyer for new and aspiring lawyers and its motto is “Support Your Lawyer-to-Be!” She felt that any law student or bar taker in the midst of so much work and stress could appreciate study supplies, fun novelty items, snacks, energy boosters, stress toys, personalized greeting cards, positive encouragement and success wisdom. So far, business has been good. The company was busiest during the summer months of June and July while recent law graduates were preparing for the bar exam. Means said the most popular gift is the “Good Luck on the Bar Exam!” care package, with much of the clientele coming from New York, Washington, D.C. and California. In addition to what the company already offers, they will even customize gifts based on the recipient’s tastes. —Dave Thomas Visit www.LawyerlyLove.com for more information on the care packages. 14 THE NATIONAL JURIST January 2009 http://www.animalbillofrights.com http://www.animalbillofrights.com http://www.law.unimaas.nl http://www.law.unimaas.nl http://www.LawyerlyLove.com
