Participating students will earn 2 to 7 units in a joint classroom and externship environment. Classes are scheduled so that students can maximize the time available for the externship experience. Externships may be fulfilled in a wide variety of city, county or state offices, in locations throughout Southern California as well as Sacramento and the Bay Area. Courses are coordinated to allow joint sessions for special speakers and site visits to observe government entities in action. In addition, participants will make a one-day visit to Sacramento to meet with public officials and private actors involved in law-making and the administrative process.
