Rutgers offers a structured Summer Jump Start program that allows admitted students to take one of their core classes during the summer. It is a fast seven-week class instead of the regular 14 weeks, Beckerman said. Also, the classes are smaller, with about 25 to 30 students each. “The students that do it say they enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and enjoy the fact that they have a slightly lighter load.
