Sip on a Zed Margarita with El Tesoro “Platinum” Tequila, homemade sour mix, Cointreau and the glass ringed with natural or smoked salt. The unusual name is derived from the last letter in the alphabet (we call it “zee” and the Brits call it “zed”) and the temperature in Fahrenheit at which combustion begins. All you really need to know, however, is that your first trip to ZED451 may end your 20th-century notions of what a steakhouse is all about. Waitstaff might suggest a refreshing Cucumber Sage Martini on a hot summer night or a soothing, warm apple cider – spiked with vodka and topped with homemade whipped cream – when the cold Midwest winds begin to blow.
