How many towns have an airport? Schaumburg preserved and improved one that is a jewel among general aviation airports in Illinois. How many towns can boast of a dropdead beautiful baseball stadium, home to the Schaumburg Flyers? Schaumburg partnered with its gold medal award-winning park district to bring baseball to Schaumburg. How many towns have a cultural facility like Schaumburg’s Prairie Center for the Arts, home to a 442-seat theatre, an awardwinning 200-member Youth Symphony Orchestra, a dance ensemble, an annual summer youth musical, and hundreds of other venues? How many towns have a convention center with a 500-room Marriott Renaissance Hotel that is as much a work of art as it is of architecture? How many towns are home to a 135-acre Spring Valley Nature Center, with its historic farm site and woods, wetlands and prairies, a sanctuary for wildlife as well as an educational tool for school children?
