He lives in the city and works downtown for Jones Lang LaSalle as a commercial real estate broker. He has set a June 2009 wedding date with fiancee Leila Cehajic, who, according to the bio from her University of Illinois tennis career, spent 10 years as a commercial model. And when those pursuits aren’t occupying his time, Kittner is enjoying his second year as the color analyst for Illinois football’s statewide radio network. Kittner took some time before an Illinois game to relive some of his Schaumburg days. Q: A: What sports did you play growing up? I played baseball, basketball and football in the Schaumburg Athletic Association. When I was in fourth grade, I played (football) with the eighth graders because of the weight limits. I played offensive line and defensive line. That was a good way to get knocked around. Why should you move to Friendship Village? So your kids don’t have to worry about you. Give yourself and your children peace of mind, knowing that you have made a great decision about your future. Now you can enjoy life to the fullest. I didn’t start playing quarterback until eighth grade. In high school, I played football and basketball, but I “retired” from basketball after my sophomore year. Q: You didn’t start playing quarterback until eighth grade? That wasn’t even my first choice. In high school, they said everybody could choose what position they wanted to try out for. I said I wanted to try out for running back – I wanted to have the ball in my hands all the time – but they said everybody but you (can choose where to try out). Sophomore year, I played safety. Junior year, I played quarterback and they wouldn’t let me play safety. Then, senior year, I hurt my thumb (after four games) and then I played outside linebacker for the last four games of the year.
