Schaumburg - Live, Work, Play - November/December 2008 - (Page 23) work Y our entire shopping experience depends on your parking space, or so says a friend of mine. Park close to the entrance and you’ll find everything you’re looking for in about an hour. It will all be on sale and the clothes will make you appear 10 pounds thinner. Get a bad spot, and after four hours you’ll limp to your car empty-handed – or worse, holding a lukewarm decaf latte and the new Suzanne Somers book you paid full price for. If you’re like me, every year you vow to avoid Woodfield between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day. Then, around Dec. 20, you crumble. There are always one or two gifts for hard-to-buy-for types and if you can’t find them at Woodfield, you can’t find them anywhere. Why? Because, as Woodfield General Manager Marc Strich points out, the size of Woodfield and its volume of traffic prompts stores to have greater depth and variety in their stock – and even test market products not available at their other stores. Also, there are always a few small “seasonal” stores that open up in November and December worth a peek. Now, get going! And good luck with the parking. november/december 2008 Page 23
