Schaumburg - Live, Work, Play - November/December 2008 - (Page 35) lying dormant in each of us. The only things missing from Heat are the harsh glare of the trigger-happy paparazzi and gruff, imposing doorman itching to shut out unsuspecting patrons. While a dress code must be adhered to, a welcoming vibe invades the perimeters of the club. Decked out in honey-colored, full-length hardwood floors and navy blue walls, Heat appears cozy - almost too cozy for a space boasting 25,000 square feet. The dance floor takes center stage, while the three main bars on the ground floor are more for grabbing drinks than vehicles for socializing. Go to a pub where everybody knows your name if looking for a gabfest. Let the music do the talking at Heat. Seating is limited, except for a smattering of strategically placed wraparound booths and small tables surrounding the dance floor. Choose the coveted highbacked, white leather ones along the back wall not only for their style, but for the privacy and insulation they offer from the throbbing crowd. But note, the booths require reservations for bottle service. Heat recommends reserving a booth a day in advance. Bachelors and bachelorettes will love the three private event rooms located on the upper level. Each room contains a bar and offers a break from the activity downstairs. Heat caters to a crowd looking to party on any given weekend, not just when special occasions arise. Heat also features live band karaoke on Thursday nights and is in the planning stages to get Wednesday nights up and running. Those looking for a night out, forget dinner and a movie, join the party at Heat. • november/december 2008 Page 35
