Appearing are national comedy headliners Dobie Maxwell, Jimmy McHugh, Sonya White and Mike Preston. The event is rated PG-16. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for cocktails – cash bar, ticket holders must be 21 and over – and snacks. Admission is $25. Proceeds benefit the general fund of Schaumburg VIP. Shelter Inc.’s 21st annual Charity Ball, “Travel Through Tuscany,” will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 21 in the ballroom of the Hyatt Regency Woodfield, 1800 E. Golf Road. Returning as host is Dr. Sandy Goldberg, host of “Food for Thought” on Sunday mornings and nutritional consultant/contributor for NBC5 Chicago since 1994. The black-tie evening begins with a Tuscan reception, with hors d’oeuvres, followed by a four-course gourmet dinner selected by the Hyatt’s executive chef. A live auction will feature destination trips, tables at fine area restaurants and primary seating at theatrical and sporting events. Silent auctions will offer other one-of-a-kind gifts and excursions. A special raffle will feature a $3,000 gasoline card. Towards the close of the evening, attendees can dance to live music. Individual tickets are $250. Patron Tables (reserved seating for 10) are $2,500; Platinum Tables (preferred seating for 10) are $4,000; and specially-appointed Chairman’s Tables are $5,500. Schaumburg AM Rotary Club holds its 17th annual Art & Silent Auction at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 6 at the Schaumburg Golf Club, 401 N. Roselle Road. Featured will be a large selection of professional art, and more than 100 silent auction items – including local restaurant and hotel packages. Admission includes hors d’oeuvres and drinks.
