Schaumburg Live Work & Play - January/February 2009 - (Page 27) Children’s home + Aid’s sChAumburg Child + FAmily Center In the first quarter of 2009, Children’s Home + Aid’s Schaumburg Child + Family Center moves into its own facility, located next to Our Saviour’s Methodist Church, 725 E. Schaumburg Road. Contributions come from Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates, the State of Illinois, Schaumburg/Hoffman Estates area individuals and businesses and benefactors of Children’s Home + Aid. The Center is accredited by the Council of Accreditation, and the only accredited provider offering subsidized services to low-income families in the immediate area. More than 13,000 square feet in size, the center will provide full-day early childhood education programs for some 110 children, ages six weeks to 6 years. Featured will be the Ramey early learning teaching model, developed and tested by renowned child development experts Drs. Craig and Sharon Ramey. The approach is designed on the basis of extensive evidence to ameliorate developmental differences frequently appearing in young children from high-risk environments, improving educational results. Other programs include developmental assessment, nutrition counseling, parenting education and support, crisis counseling and intervention services. the new hyAtt regenCy woodField The Hyatt Regency Woodfield is projecting a fresh new face these days.
