Schaumburg Live Work & Play - January/February 2009 - (Page 9) RESOLUTION ROAD We ask Schaumburg leaders: RESOLUTION for 2009? Schaumburg Village President Al Larson: “To always look on the bright side of life. You can even set that to music!” What is your New Year’s Medieval Times Show Manager Rob Staton: “Greetings from Sir Robert, the Lord Chancellor to His Majesty the King at Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament in Schaumburg. I have a few resolutions for the New Year. Firstly, my wife is great with child and we’ll be expecting a new addition to the castle in late May. So I hope to be a good father in 2009. “Secondly, His Majesty’s loyal subjects in the Chicago area do something very interesting every year. For no reason, usually around September or October, you gather in a large mass downtown and run 26.2 miles. I believe it is called a marathon? My second resolution is to join the mass of people and complete that 26.2 mile trip in 2009.” Roosevelt University President Charles R. Middleton: “That the country shows some patience for the new president and gives him time to deal with our problems in a thoughtful manner; that the university continues to thrive in the pursuit of our mission of inclusiveness and opportunity; and that my family and friends all have meaning in their lives each day of 2009.” Schaumburg Business Association President Laurie Stone: “To live life to the fullest, to work hard to help the business community and to play joyfully with family and friends.” Woodfield General Manager Marc Philippe Strich: “To continue to develop Woodfield Mall into one of the premier retail destinations in the country, while using the successes it has achieved as a stimulus to seek out even higher challenges for the best shopping center management and staff team that I have ever been associated with. To do that, I want to be sure to recognize the individual successes of each of the Woodfield team members in terms of what they contribute to the center and the community we are part of. “My bonus resolution after being a ‘newlywed for nearly 28 years’ is to find one more reason, on a daily basis, to give my wife a hug to let her know how much I appreciate having her in my life.” The Improv at Woodfield Owner Tony Baldino: “To stop talking about The Improv so much, even though it is the premier comedy club in the Chicago area.” january/february 2009 Page 9
