Established in 1989, the Hoffman Estates center is one of more than 600 nationwide. It serves between 300 and 400 children each month through referrals from the Department of Children and Family Services and local law enforcement agencies. All services are free. They include an on-site medical clinic, support groups, court preparation and specially trained forensic interviewers. “We go out of our way to make a place that’s safe, developmentally appropriate and welcoming,” said Executive Director Mark Parr.
