City Style and Living - Spring 2008 - (Page 6) Q: For you, what is the first sign that SPRING has CONTRIBUTORS Andreas Zervas, holds an MBA (Kingston University, UK), an undergraduate degree in chemistry (University of Patras, GR) and a diploma of Klimens School of Electronics (Athens, GR). For the last 20 years he has worked as a senior manager for textile companies in northern Greece. He is a member of the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists, the Society of Dyers and Colorists (UK) and the Society of Greek Chemists. His expertise and long involvement in fabric structure and treatment, as well as in operational and production automation issues place him among the most experienced textile technicians in Greece. He is married, and father of two daughters. In addition to being a computer maniac, he is an amateur musician and photographer. A:For Greece, Spring has sprung when the almond trees have flourished, but for me when I can ride my motorcycle! Jesse Yardley, has contributed to the advancement of the Calgary creative community since 1997. As a partner and managing director of Fusion Media Group, he participated in numerous high profile projects including work for Mandalay Entertainment, Jerry Bruckheimer Films, Shaw Cable, Nvidia, Bit Stream and various local companies. Following a period working as Creative Director with a Calgary-based software development company, Jesse co-founded the Defrost Network, a networking association for creative and technical professionals, and has been working as an independent consultant for leading communications and web design companies. Jesse is a big fan of NBA basketball, nature, photography, German cars and all things design. A: When I was about seven years old, I saw some bright yellow dandelions growing in the sun outside our apartment. I picked a few and brought them to my Mom. Even though they were just weeds, she put them in a glass of water and kept them until they died. For years after that I always picked dandelions each spring and brought them to her. Even now, whenever I see the first dandelion of the year, I am reminded of that old apartment, my Mom and the fact that it's now spring! Kelly Surtees, is passionate about astrology and well respected for her insight and knowledge. Kelly is a fulltime Astrologer with an international clientele.
