Responsible for constructing some of Canada’s best cement parks, these companies sought input from local youth to determine the unique design of the park in Chatham. The park is divided into two areas based on age and skill level and offers a good selection of stairs, ledges, quarter pipes and railings. Chatham-Kent offers a new destination for youth with the recent opening of cutting edge skate parks in several communities. The largest skate park west of Mississauga is the newest park located in Chatham with features spread over almost an acre of land. The skateboard experience has reached a new plateau with this well-constructed design that is being hailed by users as the best park in southern Ontario. Chatham’s skate park is the design of New Line Skateparks, Canada’s premier skate park development company and van der Zalm + Skateboard Park, Chatham Regardless of where youth travel in Chatham-Kent, they will find a skate park open to the public. All built within the past two years, most of Chatham-Kent’s skate parks incorporate the latest features. The project was an initiative of the Mayor’s Youth Council, which fundraised half a million dollars and sought donations to ensure every community in Chatham-Kent offers a skate park.
