Visitors are excited by the modern highway cut from the cliffs where you can whale watch while you drive, and where you can be sure of one breathtaking view after another with every turn in the road. The Acadian fishing village of Cheticamp awaits travelers with tasty treats from the sea, toe-tapping music, a variety of modern accommodations and amenities, plus lots of lobsters! The picturesque coastal communities of Grand Etang and St. Joseph du Moine on Cape Breton Island’s west coast offer a warm and inviting people and seafaring traditions which date back centuries. This section of the Cabot Trail is home to harbours with colourful fishing boats and communities which lie in the shadow of the Cape Breton Highlands. This is truly the Cabot Trails’ Acadian Seacoast.
