Dear Spread The Fire Magazine LETTERS TO THE I was going through a difficult time in my life and had been taking tablets to calm me down. After a while I decided not to take them anymore and gradually came off them. One night, though, I had a panic attack and could hardly catch my breath. As I rolled out of bed to get the tablets the Lord spoke to my heart these words in the rhythm of a steady heartbeat: Be still, AND KNOW, that I, Am God. My heartbeat slowed down and I soon went to sleep. I didn’t need any tablets. Paula P. Launceston Cornwall, UK I attended the Signs and Wonders Conference last September and I was truly touched by God. I also had something strange happen to me, and I was wondering if you have heard of anyone else having this happen to them and what it mean. After Joshua Mills had ministered the last night he was there, I started feeling something like wawa ter droplets, one at a time, falling on my head and rolling down my scalp and ears. When I touched it, it continued. It followed me home. It happens to me when the anointing is strong in church or in a meeting, when I am by myself in my room, and it also happens to me in the car. There is rearea son for it. Just this week, it started falling down my neck and towards my shoulders. Sometimes it feels oily; other times it feels watery. I am being very real when I say that many times it gets anan noying. I just don’t understand it. I know this must be a God-thing, but there is no one I know who I can ask about this. I mentioned it to my cell group and they laughed at me and told me that God was pouring out oil all over me. They really have no clue about it, either, and said that I should just consider it a blessing. If you have any thoughts on this or any direction, please let me know. I have honestly thought this must be of the devil because it is annoying, but I can’t figure out why God would do this to me, of all people. I am anxiously awaiting your answer. I would like to believe that God has blessed others like this, and that maybe they have a clue what it means. Very sincerely, Sherry H. Hartville, Ohio Editor’s note: Signs and wonders make us wonder, don’t they? Your friends may be correct in saying that it is a physical sign from God that His love and power are present. In the Latter Rain Revival in the 40’s and 50’s observers in meetings often reported seeing and feeling what looked like rain, but they didn’t get wet. I have also felt drops before during renewal meetings without noticing any natural source for them. Signs and wonders that are from God should always point to Jesus Christ and what the Holy Spirit is doing. They are not indicative of spiritual maturity nor do they place the receiver in a separate spiritual “class.” Receive humbly, ask God for the interpretation. However, if you pray in the Spirit and earnestly seek to know the answer and you still do not understand, perhaps you should speak with your pastor and even your doctor to eliminate the possibility of any physical anomaly.
