Toronto Magazine - Premier 2008 - (Page 54) ocities ream? By Chris Lumsdon All cities dream and this should surprise no one — after all, if people, why not cities? London dreams of its history, Paris of style, Tokyo dreams in neon, and New York, well, the Big Apple dreams of itself. Toronto seems to have the same recurring dream — what could I be? How will they remember me, and what great thing can I do now that will define me going forward? It’s an ephemeral state, to be a young city in search of itself. But a closer look reveals a creative place that, as it evolves, manages to connect the dreams of a great number of people along the way. 54 toronto | 2008
