Almost 9,000 individual records on Elgin County veterans are available to assist researchers, genealogists and history buffs. Exhibits take the visitor through the history of our community, and Canadian military history, from the war of 1812 against the Americans, to today’s peacekeeping operations around the world. Changing exhibits highlight events from military history, usually with an Elgin County connection, such as Ellis Sifton, VC, who earned the Empire’s highest award for valour on Vimy Ridge in 1917.
