The Daymon Difference - Winter 2008/2009 - (Page 17) Yumiko Une, at our Aeon-Japan office, might just be the fastest person in Daymon. In addition to her regular duties as Assistant to Maker Support Team, she was recently ranked 15th at the Tokyo International Women’s Marathon 2008. On November 16, she was in the Top 10 at the Japan national preliminary, and on October 4, she came in second at The Portland Marathon, in which she participated as a reward for coming in at the top in the Japan national half marathon in May. She also took 1st Place at the Japan national half marathon on September 28, and as a prize, she was invited to the JAL Honolulu Marathon on December 14. In March of this year, Une-san broke her best record at the Nagoya International Women’s Marathon, which was only 3 minutes later than Naoko Takahashi, Japanese exrunner and Sydney Olympic gold medalist. As part of her daily training, she is running every morning before breakfast. She is truly an example of Great People. Running Down a Dream Aeon Team Expands by Two The long awaited arrival of Bailey Beth Thomas (a.k.a. BB) and Jenna Belle Thomas (a.k.a. Belle) finally happened on October 9 in Tokyo at the Seibo Hospital at about 5:30PM, which is right around Dad Peter’s supper time. They weighed in at a combined 12 pounds – divided equally. The up-to-the-minute report from proud Papa (Daymon veep at Aeon) was: “Mother [Amanda] and babies are doing awesome and we are in love with our new girls.” Yumiko Une races to the finish 17
