The Daymon Difference - Winter 2008/2009 - (Page 18) big idea… Beginning on May 28, barely a month after the Big Biennial of ’08 in Stamford, CT, Daymon teams from all over the globe celebrated their own Mini Biennials in a “One Daymon” spirit, yet with very different local and cultural twists. There was a Latvian grill party at a beachside spa in Jurmala (Kruschev’s favorite summer hangout); a cake-baking contest in London; a beach party in South Florida; an “overnighter” in Portugal; and an “All Japan” Mini Biennial attended by 250 associates – probably the largest in terms of pure head count. (“Two hundred and fifty associates! We had companywide Biennials in the 1990s at the Rye Brook, NY Hilton that did not have 250 associates. This is a true …Mini-Biennials symbol of our global growth,” said EVP Frank Cohenour.) The mission statement of the Mini Biennial was “To extend the spirit and emotion of the actual Biennial throughout the world and help to perpetuate the learnings long after the April event and to practice our vision of thinking, acting and communicating as One Daymon with one voice.” DRC associates review video from the Biennial Member of the Topco MiniBiennial team The Jeronimo Martins team cleans up a local beach Adrian Walker addresses the Ahold team The King Soopers team The Rimi team The Frys and Bashas’ teams The Smith’s team The K-VA-T team The Safeway team The Rite Aid team 18
