The Daymon Difference - Winter 2008/2009 - (Page 4) cover story Peter Brennan speaks to his friends and associates About 200 of his closest family members, friends and colleagues, including suppliers and retailers, gathered at Innis Arden Country Club in Stamford on the evening of October 28 to toast and roast Peter Brennan, who will be retiring from Daymon after an illustrious career that spanned three decades. The evening was filled with many fond remembrances and anecdotes tracking Peter’s Daymon life from Detroit to Stamford, CT with four stops along the way – including three different birth cities for his three different daughters. With his wife Ande by his side for most of the night, just has she has been for 44 years (they were high school sweethearts), Peter sat back and listened. When it was his turn to speak up, he offered a simple yet telling story. He was with a group of associates and they were all talking about their alma maters and sports, and of course Peter focused on his beloved Michigan State University Spartans. A young associate asked him what he considered to be the best example of a team sport. “American business done right,” Peter answered. Then he told his family and friends attending the farewell gala: “Daymon is a great example of a great team. Thank you for letting me play on your team for the past 30 years.” They Came to Roast and Toast… Peter and family enjoy a laugh at his own expense Milt Sender raises his glass to toast Daymon’s first President (left to right) Nancy Crockett, Suzanne Wong, Allen Noddle, Andrea Brennan 4
