John Muir Health Progress Report 2006/2007 - (Page 13) Linda works with insurance and drug companies to get donated medications or co-payment assistance for her “clients,”and her work makes a genuinely positive impact on their lives: in 2005 and 2006, alone, the seniors that Linda helped received donated drugs, ranging from allergy pills to cancer treatments, valued at more than $240,000. “Many of these folks don’t have a prescription drug benefit or can’t afford Medicare Part D co-payments,” she says. “We think having to cut pills in half to make them last longer, even if the patient no longer gets the correct dose, or go without needed medications is unacceptable. John Muir Health gives these members of our community a little boost where it makes a big difference. I’m proud to be part of that.” 13
