The robot takes up almost an entire room, can dispense more than 300 medications in various dosages, and – most importantly – fills prescriptions with 99.7 percent accuracy. “And that .3 percent is basically a dropped pill here and there, which is quickly caught and fixed,” says Dr. Iyoya. “The accuracy is incredible and that means our patients have one less thing to worry about during their hospital stay. Our pharmacists have more time for patient interaction and care. We’re one of only two hospitals in the Bay Area with this amazing technology. It’s just one more way that John Muir Health is improving both safety and quality of care for our patients.” 9
