backstory 088 T HE MUSEUM-WORTHY Melissa Shoes' London flagship in Covent Garden is the Brazilian fashion footwear retailer's largest store to date and its first European outpost. Designed by multimedia artist Muti Randolph, the two-story space welcomes customers with light, movement and color. Here, in the reception area, an enormous LED screen receives signals in the form of videos, or can be transformed into an immense mirror for a dazzling artistic display. "This new London flagship store mixes all the main characteristics present in the brand's DNA-innovation, dynamics and playfulness," Randolph says. "A space where technology, design, architecture and art mix up, revealing Melissa's soul through interesting sensorial experiences that renew themselves each season." It's art. It's retail. It's amazing. - Jessie Dowd FEBRUARY 2015 DESIGNRETAILONLINE.COM Photo by RICHARD YOUNG http://www.DESIGNRETAILONLINE.COM
