Over the past year, I have spent more time out in the field than in any other year in recent memory, visiting retailers, brands and industry makers. During my travels, it has become abundantly clear that both buyers and sellers in the retail design industry have the same goals-perhaps more so this year than any other. As the spotlight on the shopper becomes ever sharper, as Big Data provides more minute insights and as retail trends deepen, those objectives have become better defined as well. Retailers and brands aspire to create not just moods, but whole experiences.
