Glen Rose is known as the Dinosaur Capital of Texas but there is more to be discovered in this quaint town. With an historic courthouse square, surrounded by hills and rivers, Glen Rose was voted Americas Dream Town for 2004.
Dinosaur Valley State Park features some of the best preserved dinosaur tracks in the world. The park also offer hiking, biking and horseback riding trails, as well as campsites, playgrounds and access to the Paluxy River. Dinosaur World adds to the dinosaur theme with a walk-thru park including more than 100 life-size dinosaurs, museum, fossil dig and more. Fossil Rim Wildlife Center is one of the most noted wildlife conservation preserves in the country, working with a number of endangered species including cheetah, black rhino, white rhino and red wolf. In addition to the important work in saving the animals, Fossil Rim also offers education opportunities, including drive-thru and behind the scenes tours.
